Geared motors are gear systems that allow electric motors to operate at different speeds for which they were designed. The function of a geared motor is to reduce this speed to the motors (between 50, 60, 100 revolutions per minute), and allow the efficient operation of the machines, adding power and strength.
As a company, we offer our customers certain techniques to extend the life of the gearmotors:
-Depending on the type of geared motor, a progressive start-up is usually recommended.
-It is highly recommended to replace the oil the first time after 200 hours of work, and it is even possible to decide at that moment to wash the gearbox. From then on, the lubricant should be changed constantly.
-Check the oil level of the gear unit and, if necessary, replace it.
-Check for possible oil leaks.
-General overhaul of the gearbox.
-Check cones.
-Check gears and pinions.
-Check the tightness of the cone on the shaft.
-Adjust the shafts of the reducer.
-Check the oil pump and its lines.
Regarding the correct storage of a geared motor, some recommendations for its storage are detailed below:
-Avoid environments with excessive humidity and exposed to the elements.
-Arrange the gearmotor in such a way that there is a stable support base and ensure that there is no risk of unforeseen displacement.
-Cover all machined external parts with protection.
-Fill completely with lubricating oil and orient the gearbox so that the depressor plug is located in the uppermost position.
